Good hotel, very reasonably prices, could have slightly better furnished rooms, food for dinner and breakfast was good. room TV was small and very few channels, only CNN and one Movie channel often in English language. Good SPA facilities.
The pickup at 7am for return to Sofia for a 12:40 flight was a little early leaving us hanging around the airport for an hour waiting for check in to open.
It would be really useful to know when quieter times are in the resorts. We are lucky enough not to be ruled by holidays and Bansko was really busy during our stay. It would have been nice to be able to choose a less busy time.
Other than that, booking through Bulgariaski was as effortless as ever.
It s my 3rd year in this hotel. food is worse year by year. shuttle to the gondola don t respect schedule or the customers, hotel now asks money for bath robe (by example)
I had a great time in Bansko. Great value for money, competent ski instructor ( thank you Velina), clean hotel and absolutely fantastic people in Bulgaria! Booking through BulgariaSki was straight forward and out rep in Bansko was very friendly and helpful ( thank you Peter). I am coming back next year!
The reservation service and the hotel were both very good. The snowboarding school at Bansko was disappointing though - as expensive as skiing but with a quarter of the classes (3*2 hr snowboarding classes instead of 12*2 hr skiing classes)
Found staff really helpful as my girlfriend had recently broke her leg she was still on crutches. they helped her get around the hotel
we stay at Lion Hotel, HB for 7 days. The buffet was poor and almost identical every single day.
We have been the guests of the Lion Hotel for the past three years and one problem I have is that we always get rooms at the top floor, somewhat cramped and with no balcony. This year we held the car in the underground garage and we had to wait for quite a bit for someone at the reception to come and open the garage door and then again there was nobody to open the barrier at the exit.
1. Unfortunately 2 of the four persons for which I reserved an apartment couldn't come in the last moment, but no solution could be found by hotel staff. In fact, the receptionist said NO without any questios, telling me that I should speak with the agency and she cannot do anything.
2. Most of hotel staff is rude, doesn't smile at all .. typically balkan attitude.
3. Considering that this was the third time I spend my ski vacation in Bansko, I remarked there was a worsening of services overall, especially the food in the restaurant. The breakfast was much worse than in 2010, while dinner was similar.
4. Even if the costs are lower than in other countries, this was my last ski vacation in Bulgaria; the probability to change my mind is very low, because I'm sick of bad balkan attitude towards the clients.
The excange fee was worth than in the other place.
A bigger ski room will be wonderful.
More wireless internet routers, in every floor, if is possible. Low signal in the rooms.

We really thought it was a pleasant stay in Bansko and at the Hotel Lion! Lovely skiing and superior service!
This is the first time I used BulgariaSki services and it was awesome experience. If I travel again to Bulgaria, I will surely use BulgariaSki again and highly recommend to all my friends. Just great work guys and keep it up like that!
