More Romanian tourists plan a ski holiday in Bulgaria this winter

VisitBulgaria.net, December 09, 2013

Over 20,000 Romanian tourists are expected to visit the ski resorts in Bulgaria this winter, according to Romanian tour operators cited by BTA. Bulgaria is among the most desirable destinations for Romanians to celebrate the New Year.

Most of the bookings were made in early September, mostly for packages in Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo. It turns out that the early bookings for winter holidays in Bulgaria have registered a growth of 30% this year.

According to travel industry experts the opening of Vidin-Calafat Danube Bridge is the reason for many skiers in Romania to choose Bulgarian over Austrian ski resorts. On the Romanian tourist market Bulgaria competes primarily with Greece, Turkey and Spain, experts report.
