Ryanair to launch Plovdiv-Milan flight

dnevnik.bg, 21 Feb 2011, 4.24 PM

Irish budget carrier Ryanair will launch flights from Bulgaria's southern city of Plovdiv to Milan's Bergamo airport, which will replace the Plovdiv-Barcelona service which was cancelled two days earlier.
The airline will service the destination two times a week, starting from May 7, according to information published on Plovdiv airport's website on Friday.
Ryanair announced the cancellation of 18 flights from Girona following the airport's decision to terminate a five-year contract with the company on 16 February. The airport in Plovdiv then said it was expecting Ryanair to make proposals for an alternative destination. Flights to Milan are currently serviced by national carrier Bulgaria Air and Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air.
