The Rabisha Lake – summer getaway for connoisseurs

General information: The Rabisha lake is situated around 40 km away from Vidin city in close proximity to the Rabisha village, nearby the famous “Magura” cave. The lake is huge, with oval shape and no branching or arms. The water in the lake comes from subsoil springs, coming from the cave.

St. Todor's day – the celebration of the flying horses

On the 15th of March Bulgaria celebrates the day of St. Todor. This holiday is a mixture between the Christianity and the pagan rituals which is typical for the Bulgarian traditions. St. Teodor (Todor) is represented as rider on a white horse so he was well accepted as a horse patron in Bulgaria after the Conversion in 864. The horses are very reputable in Bulgaria. Proto-Bulgarians were nomads and they were known horse people.

Traditionally, football-mad Bulgaria has had little time for more upmarket sports such as golf or cricket.
