International festival of East Orthodox Music "Nikolay Triandafilov - Slivenets" starts in Sliven.
The festival is part of the official celebrations for the day of Sliven - St. Dimiter's day, reports Sliveninfo.
The festival is under the patronage of Metropolitan bishop of Sliven Joanikii and is sponsored by Sliven Municipality.

The archaeologist team of Bulgaria's Georgi Kitov has unearthed precious jewels, dating back from second or third century in Drumeva Mound near the Town of Sliven, the manager of the expedition himself announced.
The scientists found golden earrings, silver bracelets and three bronze rings in a Roman brick tomb of woman, buried in the mound.

One of Bulgaria's finest brands of rakia - ‘Slivenska Perla' will be exported to China, the Standart daily informs.
The export is foreseen to start from 2008. The chief of ‘Vini Sliven' Valeri Chulin told the deal had already been finalized.
Except the Slivenska Perla, the export will include gin and two brands of vodka.
Chulin also shared in front of Standart that the Chinese market is a very specific and difficult. He also added Vini Sliven already made a break on the Chinese market...

Bulgarian archaeologists led by famous archaeologist Georgi Kitov found fragments of an ancient tomb near the village of Kaloyanovo in the region of Sliven.
Archaeologist Iordanka Radancheva said that the archaeological expedition found elements from the wall plaster covered with pictures very similar to those in the tomb in Kazanlak.
So far more than ten tombs have been explored by Kitov’s expedition Temp, Bulgarian National Radio said.

Golden mask and silver rhyton for wine were found today by Bulgarian archaeologis led by prof. Georgi Kitov.
The findings are made at the Thracian mound close to the Sliven village of Topolchene, announced BNR. The findings are from a rich Thracian grave from IV century BC.
It is supposed that the golden mask is of a Thracian king. For 150 years of archaeology in Bulgaria, this is the second time such a mask to be found in the country, informed Mr. Kitov.

An archaeological expedition, led by prominent Bulgarian archaeologist Georgi Kitov, discovered various gold and silver artifacts in a Thracian funeral mound near the town of Sliven.
The expedition found several burial sites under the hill, dating back to the second and third century, Focus news agency reported.
Iordanka Radancheva, a member of the expedition, said that most of the bodies were unusually laid out, with the head pointing east, instead of west.
