Bulgaria Moves to Focus on Alternative Tourism

Bulgaria is focusing on developing alternative forms of tourism, the country's Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev has stated.

On Monday, Dobrev commented on an announcement made by the country's Prime Minister Boyko Borisov that the Tourism Unit of the Ministry is to be shifted to Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv.

The number of tourists in Bulgaria will increase

The number of tourists that will visit Bulgaria in summer 2012 will increase 8%, announced Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delyan Dobrev. Dobrev and Deputy Minister of Tourism Ivo Marinov visited the International tourism fair Cultural Tourism in Veliko Turnovo from 19 – 21 April 2012. More than 15 countries presented their opportunities for tourism.
