Archaeologists have found a 900-year-old lead ampoule of fragrance at the excavations on Tzarevetz hill in the town of Veliko Tarnovo. The find dates back to 12-13 century and was discovered by the team of archaeologist Mirko Robov by the South fortress wall. The ampoule is 8 cm high and 5 cm wide. On one of the sides features The Mother of God and on the other is a picture of a saint. The ampoule was used to carry holy oil from the Holy Grounds to Veliko Tarnovo. A few days ago at the same hill was discovered the residency of Asenevtzi dynasty who ruled the Second Bulgarian Kingdom in 1187-1280.
