Thousands of tourists visited Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi museums in August

In August close to 62,000 tourists visited the museums in Veliko Tarnovo and Arbanassi, Central Northern Bulgaria, the municipal tourism agency said.

Figures suggest that 23,090 of the guests were foreigners. As far as Bulgarians are concerned there are more visits made by pupils, students and children.

The top site in terms of visitor interest is the Tsarevets architecture reserve visited by 45,761 tourists last month alone, of them 11,387 foreigners.

From among foreign tourists more than 10,500 came from European countries, and close to 4600 - from Russia.
