Bulgaria's Albena welcomes the first summer tourists

novinite.com, 20 April 2011

The Bulgarian Albena Black Sea resort welcomed its first tourists, as a group of 80 Germans marked the early start of the summer season on Tuesday.

The group will go through balnotherapy, receive massages and other medical procedures for a period of three weeks, representatives of the resort have clarified before the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

On Easter, the tourists will have the opportunity to visit churches in the nearby cities of Varna, Balchik and Dobrich and experience the traditional Bulgarian way of celebrating the holiday.

In 2011, Albena expects to receive some 26 000 German tourists, or a 30-30% increase year on year. After the market was scarce during the last couple of years, Germany once again shows interest in Albena, its representatives have stated.
