The legendary skier Marc Girardelli gave Bansko his fifth and last Crystal Globe. He made this historical gesture during the TV show Sports Fever, which was broadcast live from Bansko.

"This is my most difficult earned World Cup, said Marc Girardelli. I hope it is an incentive for all Bulgarian skiers. Girardelli won his fifth World Cup in season 1992/93.

The historical trophy will be put in a conspicuous place in the lobby of the 5-star

Bansko will become a favourite destination for tourism, managers of the top ski resorts of Wengen and St. Moritz say.

Bansko will hosts events of the men's world cup win skiing, it becomes clear from the FIS preliminary calendar, which was announced by the director of the ski resort of Wengen. Ski stars, including Olympic champions Hanni Wenzel and Gustavo Thoeni as well as legends such as Andreas Wenzel and Marc Girardelli gave the official start of the ski season in Bulgaria's winter resort of Bansko on Saturday.

They all made demonstration ski runs on the Alberto Tomba slope, accompanied by ski students and competitors from the "Yulen" ski club in the town.
