The mayor of Bansko, Georgi Ikonomov, will represent the resort at one of the biggest international tourism exhibitions – the 18th Annual East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Exhibition (EMITT) in Istanbul, Turkey, the press office of Bansko Municipality announced.

The exhibition starts on January 30 and will last until February 2, 2014.

Bansko will be presented before tour operators and journalists with an accent on the winter tourism.

Bulgaria's ski holiday resort Bansko has been named Europe's best value ski resort by TripAdvisor for the second year in a row.

The resort was found to offer the best value when compared with 40 other ski destinations, based on typical one-day-visit ski costs plus food and drink.

The costs amounted to just GBP 104 at Bansko. A similar day on the slopes at Courchevel in France - the most-expensive destination - was as much as GBP 432.

Bulgaria could immediately host the Winter Olympics, ski legend Alberto Tomba stated at the opening of the ski season in Bansko.

"Once Sochi can organize such an event, Bulgaria should also cope'' said the l legend, nicknamed La Bomba.

According to him it is completely realistic for Bulgaria to get the rights to organize the major event in 2022 or 2026 by latest.

The XVI Bansko International Jazz Festival was opened last night. Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev, ministers, deputy ministers and the ambassadors of the U.S. and South Africa to Bulgaria attended the opening ceremony.
This year the local authorities expect the festival to attract around 10,000 tourists a day.

The event will be held at the central square in the town during the period 08-13 August 2013. More than 25 jazz formations will perform live.

The first round of Piraeus Bank Golf Challenge 2013 will be held at Pirin Golf and Country Club on June 29th, 2013. The second round will be held on September 14th, 2013.

The format of the challenge is divided in three formats, as follows: Division A – to 12.4 – Strokeplay, Division B – 12,5 – 22 – Stablefort, Division C – 22, 1 – 36 – Stablefort.
The awarding will be according to the individual scores in each division. 3 net prizes will be given for each division. The awarding ceremony...

The world famous 5-time skiing champion Marc Girardelli has registered his own wine brand, released by Bulgarian wine producers Domaine Boyar.

The Austrian skier, who has won renown competing for Luxembourg, has long been connected to Bulgaria and has fallen in love with Bulgarian wine.

Among other things, Girardelli is an official face of Bulgarian top ski resort Bansko.

This year the celebrations of 08 December will cost around 80 and 100 BGN in a three star hotel in Bansko.

Usually the students' celebrations attract numerous young tourists in the Bulgarian ski resorts. The good mood and party atmosphere is guaranteed, as Bansko is well known for the excellent night life.

62 players participated in the golf tournament with the cooperation of Devin, which took place at Pirin Golf & Country Club on 30 July 2011.

In April 2011 Devin and Pirin Golf and Country club organized the first golf tournament for journalists with unique and interesting format. The first three journalists again participated in the competition.

After a very competitive game the teams of Petar Stratiev and Ivo Dimitrov won the tournament cup with 46 net Stableford points.

The second golf tournament “Diplomats and business friends” took place on 18th June in Pirin Golf and Country Club.

The golfers had the chance to compete on 18 holes. The event was officially opened by the ambassadors of Slovakia and Germany, who are among the initiators of the golf tournament.
