The New Skiing Season in Bansko

The new skiing season in Bulgaria is about to begin earlier this year. Meteorologists forecast heavy snowfall from November which promises a great ski season from the beginning of December.

Bansko Expects 800,000 Tourists

This winter, Bansko expects more than 800,000 guests, sources from the resort's Mayor's Office informed. The hotels and appartments for rent provide accomodation for some 15,000 people. When the hotels that are now under construction open doors, Bansko will offer lodgings to 30,000 holidaymakers.
The investments have exceeded one billion euro. Ten new four-star hotels will open doors soon.

Snow Covers Mountains in Bulgaria, Lower Parts See Warm, Sunny Weather

Snow is expected to fall over the high mountains in Bulgaria in few days, while the lowest parts of the country will see warm and sunny weather, forecasts say.

The temperatures will drop by up to 12C in the forthcoming weekend. The cold spell is likely to be accompanied by frost blanket in the same period.

The warm weather is expected to come back for a couple of days, starting October 15, when the mercury will zoom up to 27C.

Bansko Lives in the Rhythm of Jazz

The festival gathers 200 musicians from 16 countries.
Virtuoso Milcho Leviev won the admiration of both the local people and the foreign tourists.

The beautiful Bulgarian mountain resort of Bansko is living in the rhythm of jazz. For a whole week, the local people and guests of the town will enjoy the musical talent of some 200 participants in the Tenth Jubilee Festival. Bansko Jazz Fest to Tour around Bulgaria

The Bansko international jazz festival will travel around the country for the first time in its history.

Blues, gospel and jazz signer Janis Harrington and the Dutch nu jazz band Praful will stage concerts in Sofia, Plovdiv and the Golden Sands resort.

Festival organisers wanted to help more people get in touch with the music which attracts thousands of people to Bansko every year, avtora.com reported.

Bansko Jazz Fever

This year’s Bansko Jazz Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary, bringing together jazz fans from all over Bulgaria on August 8 to 13.

Artists from 16 countries and three continents will participate in the grand celebrations.

The first day of the festival will see the performance of one of the most popular English jazz blues, Papa George. To open the festival, organisers have invited Bulgarian National Radio’s big band with soloist the prima of Dutch jazz, Denis Djana.

Teodosii Spasov closes the 10th edition of the festival

Performers from 16 countries and three continents will jazz in the centre of Bansko again this year from 8 – 13th August.

The tenth anniversary of the popular music forum at the foot of the Pirin Mountain will offer a diverse program.

Last 3 Dancing Bears in Bulgaria Transported to Belitsa Bear Park

The last three dancing bears in Bulgaria were transported on Friday to the Bear re-adaptation park in Belitsa, Four Paws Foundation announced.

The foundation bough the three animals from their owners, who used them as an instrument of gaining money, making the bears dance and do tricks on the streets of the local villages and towns.
