Bansko resort is nominated for a winter capital of the Balkans. This was announced by Blagoi Ralin, head of the BHRA, yesterday in Bansko. Bansko hosted a meeting of the International and Balkan association of hoteliers and restauranteurs.

The fist golf camp of the National Golf Team of Bulgaria for this year began on May 14. The camp was arranged in cooperation with the BGA (PBGA) and Alan Rogut – Golf development Manager in BGA. The coaches of the national selection, which will represent Bulgaria in International amateur golf tournaments – Neal Turley and Nikolay Stanew were quite strict, but pleased that the future of amateur golf is in their hands.

2010 Bansko ski centre will host the FIS Alpine Ski Europa Cup two slalom races for Men From 22nd to 23rd of January. Organizers are Bulgarian Ski Federation and Bulgarian Ski Pool, with the support of the Ministry of Physi cal Education and Sports, ULEN and Municipality Bansko.

The Bansko fens are used to the glamorous season opening party. This year it exceeded all expectations for sure. Great ski champions Mark Girardelli, Pirmin Zurbgiggen, Peter Popangeloff, Bojan Krizaj, Paul Accola, Patrick Ortlieb, Peter Mueller and Hubert Strolz competing against each other, but this time for a noble cause – raising funds for the ski and snowboard education of more Bulgarian kids.

Meteorologists forecast colder weather on Wednesday morning and light fall of snow, heaviest on Wednesday afternoon.

The ski season in Bansko will be officially opened on 12th December 2009

Bansko ski resort is already preparing the ski slopes for the forecoming ski season in the Pirin Mountain. The snow cannons are already operating, preparing a solid base for a perfect snow cover.
The resort will be opened for skiing on 01 December, but the official opening ceremony will take place on 12th December 2009.

On Saturday, 24.10.09, Pirin Golf & Country Club hosted for a second time this year the Par Tee Club Golf Tournament. The format of play was Stableford Individual on 18-holes of the Ian Woosnam golf course.

30 golfers including foreigners took part in the tournament. Non-members of the Par Tee Club also showed high interest in the tournament. The participants were divided into two divisions: A (hcp 0 – 18) and B (hcp 19 – 36). The weather remained gloomy during the whole day but without any...

Bansko mountain resort in the Pirin Mountain celebrates its official holiday today. The holiday is marked at the date of the announcement of the Balkan war in 1912, when the town was liberated from ottoman rule by the band of Hristo Chernopeev.
