Banya Spa and Welness

General information: Banya is situated in the south-west of Bulgaria in a valley between the three big mountains Rila, Pirin and the Rodope Mountains.

Mineral waters: The village is rich in mineral waters of temperature ranging between 37 and 57 degrees Celsius that are used for spa, recreational and industrial purposes.
More then 70 mineral springs with average temperature of 58 ̊̊ C. Banya is extremely attractive with its open-air swimming pools with mineral water which are near the public baths. The old bath /1735/ is interesting with its architecture. The water is clean, scentless and without a precipitate, good for drinking. It contains of hydro-carbonate, sulephate, sodium, fluorine and silicon and is weakly mineralized.

Indications for medical treatment and prophylactic: It is used for medical treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of the locomotory system, chronic gynecological diseases and inflammatory diseases of the nervous system. There are also mud-curing deposits.
