The friendliset of staff- much nicer than the rude staff in the Rila. Really prompt and friendly service at the Lodge.

We stayed at The Lodge Hotel in February 2010, for an excellent price (80 EUR/night for the Exclusive suite). The hotel was very new at that time, the staff was extremely friendly and all the services were excellent. Additionally, the online reservation, the ski services and equipment were all extremely effective.

In comparison to 2010, everything was worse in 2012. Still good overall, but worse in every aspect. The apartment price was 50% more expensive (120 EUR), the apartments were about 30% smaller (although named the same, rooms ending in 01 have a lot more space, a big entrance hall, a larger dining room with a big table and a larger bedroom). The hotel staff was friendly but less enthousiastic and communicative than the last time. There were a lot of power outages, one of which lasted for the whole ski day. The online reservation was a lot more complex than in 2010; we had to exchange about 15 e-mails about weird limitations about not being able to rent equipment for kids, not being able to pay with a debit card, correcting errors in the calculations etc. Finally, it took 16 hours instead of the normal 6 to get there, as all the roads to Sofia were blocked because of the severe weather conditions.

However: given the overall economic context and the way we managed to resolve every issue in the end, I think the conditions were absolutely acceptable (which only in comparison with the excellent rating from two years before will appear like a step back). The location (both the town of Borovets and The Lodge Hotel) are fabulous and the people, even sometimes slower in response, are extremely kind and ultimately effective. We had an accident on the ski slope which was taken care of with extreme professionalism and lightning fast speed. We found it particularly easy to get around in English, from every person we talked to, to most of the public signs and inscriptions. The slopes were in excellent condition and the weather was perfect.

Excellent from start to finish. It is difficult to fault any of the process from the initial booking to the great and friendly service that we received from everyone in Borovets. If i am to find fault, and it would only be a very minor point, there could have been tea and coffee making facilities in the hotel room. The booking process was very smooth, Martin was professional and extremely informative, his communication was exceptional. Our transfer to Borovets was there to meet us as promised, and the driver was very friendly. The Hotel was just perfect. food excellent, staff friendly, nothing too much trouble. The Rep for our snowboard package was in communication almost as soon as we landed, and continued to be a great help throughout our stay. The snowboard instructional team i can't praise enough. Friendly, professional, helpful beyond their contract, an absolute pleasure to be around. Kris at Boro Sport deserves a special mention, an absolute gentleman!
All in all there is little that I can be negative about our trip with BulgariaSki. Awesome organisation, awesome value for money, and more than anything awesome people!!!
Thank you very much for a memorable holiday. We will definitely return soon.

The hotel is excellent location & the rooms are high standard. However, the services are very very poor. Breakfast is served very late, the quality disapointing. The dinner we wanted to get organised for 5 families was a long strectched painful excercise...

From the online booking system and the email communication, to the accommodation and the on-place facilities, this was a great experience. I would definitely come again and recommend the travel agency and the hotel to other people.

Remarkable pluses:
* very fast responses in the online communication
* very clear and tidy in providing all the details
* great hotel, both as service and as value for money
* great integrated system for ski passes & equipment
* really nice people
* great resort overall

Remarkable minuses:
* no detailed map, nor driving instructions on how to reach Borovets
* the ski equipment was not among the finest, although at a very good price
* unaccommodated pharmacy and pharmacist not speaking English; could not obtain treatment for chill blains.
