Day 1

Sofia – Kardzhali — Ardino (about 250 km, 3 – 4 hours) – Devil's Bridge - Eagle's rocks

The town of Kardzhali is situated in the Eastern Rhodope mountains, on both banks of the Arda river.

Ardino town – Devil's Bridge (10 km). Hiking to the Devil's Bridge - an ancient bride above the Arda river, 56 m long, with three arches, as its main arch is 11.50 m high.
The hiking rout is for beginners, 2 hours walking in both directions.

Visiting of Orlovi skali (Eagle's rocks) near Ardino after lunch. This historic site consists of niches cut into a large rock standing above the forest. The site seems to have had some religious significance.
The route is almost without hiking. (1 h 30 min).

1 overnight stay in a 3*** hotel in Kardzhali.

Day 2

Kardzhali – Cherven and Mostovo villages - Krastova gora wood - Karadzhov kamak rock formation

Breakfast in the hotel. Transfer to Cherven and Mostovo villages (1 h 30 min)

Walking tour to Krastova gora site (1 h 30 min). It is one of the most astonishing routes in Rhodopes. This is the Bulgarian Holy Wood (like Athos in Greece)! Up the hill of the mountain there are 12 chapels (equals the 12 Bible apostles), one church and monastery part.

Lunch and walking tour to the sacred place - Karadzhov kamak (1 h 30 min). On the top there is an enormous rock stacked between 2 cathedral walls.

Return to Mostovo (1 h) and Departure for Sofia.
