The traditional "Rose Festival" in Kazanluk reached its culmination Sunday with a parade through the town's main street.
The festival is being held for the 40th time in Kazanluk.
The parade started at noon from the town square "Sevtopolis" and was as a tradition lead by a group of kukers from the village of Turia. (Kukers are costumed men performing traditional Bulgarian rituals to scare away evil spirits.)

The Japanese great admirers of the Bulgarian rose and each year Kazanlak meets many groups with tourists for the Rose Holiday. Over 10 000 Japanese tourists come yearly in Bulgaria, generally for tours around the country. The keen visitors love visiting the Rose Festival, The Melnik Pyramids, the old capital of Veliko Tarnovo and Koprivshtitsa.
Each year the number of the Japanese tourists records and increase of 3-5 %, compared to the previous year.
