Boom of Romanian Tourists in Golden Sands

The coastal resort of Golden Sands expects boom in the number of tourist visits from Romania.
Head of the Golden Sands hotel union Grisha Fidanov said that the increased figures will affect mostly St. Konstantin resort.

Most Romanians come to Bulgaria in order to spend their weekend in the country’s coastal resorts.
A problem that foreign tourists still face in Bulgaria is the work of unlicensed medical centres in the resorts, Fidanov said.

First Russian Orginezed Tourists for Season 2007 in Sozopol

The first organised foreign groups arrived to the coastal town of Sozopol on April 25.
The first group to spend its vacation in the Bulgarian coastal resort came from Russia and will remain 14 days in Bulgaria.

Summer season 2007 started earlier than usual and will last until the end of September. The longer duration is expected to aid the success of local tourism companies.

BBC Filming Team Shoots 'Attila' in Bulgarian Town

A shooting team of BBC is working all week long in the region around the medieval citadel ‘Baba Vida' (Grandmother Vida), situated in the town of Vidin (Northern-Western Bulgaria).
Vidin's mayor Ivan Tsenov and director of Vidin's History Museum Fionera Filipova will meet the director of the movie production house ‘Bright Ideas' Vladimir Voinovski in the media-informational centre of the municipality.

Hotel accommodation with 5000 beds will be constructed nearby Dospat dam

The land close to the Dam reached 35 Euro per square metre.
Hotels and villas with a capacity of over 3000 beds are now being constructed in close vicinity to the Dospat Dam. Thus a brand new village will emerge town close to the dam, which may be bigger than Dospat town itself. The number of residents in Dospat is 3500 people. Although it is a huge tourism centre now with 1270 beds in hotels, holiday homes and houses, it will soon be transformed into even more attractive tourism...
