Ten finalists in “EDEN – 952 – the nature meets you” contest

20 Bulgarian municipalities took part in the “EDEN – 952 – the nature meets you” contest and 10 of them went on the competition. All Municipalities will be listed in the new tourist map of Bulgaria. The winner will be chosen on the 13th of May 2009 in the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. The winner will take part in the European issue of the contest in Brussels.

The first international cruise ship for 2009 lay aboard at Svishtov

The first international cruise ship for 2009 lay aboard at Terminal 1 of Svishtov port. 110 tourists from the Western Europe visited Svishtov as part of the program of “Primadona” ship. The ship came from Tulcha and went on to Belgrade, Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna.

70 international ships with the total number of 7520 passengers berthed abroad at Svishtov port in 2008. 84 ships with more than 9000 passengers are expected in 2009. The number increased because of the Svishtov port policy,...

The ski season in Bansko was closed

The ski season in Bansko was officially closed and the lift facilities stopped operating. There was a lot of snow this season and great number of tourist and skiers visited Bansko. The most important is that in 2009 the resort was established as a modern ski centre as it hosted the Ski World Cup Ladies in the end of February.

The world financial crisis did not stop the winter sports lovers and Bansko was full of tourists from Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Russia and etc again. The mayor of...

New 5-star hotel in Devin

Five star spa hotel Persenk was officially opened on the 17th of April in Devin. The complex tends to be the most luxuriant spa centre in Bulgaria. The hotel was blessed by the Metropolitan of Plovdiv, Nikolay. A fireworks show illuminated the sky above Persenk hotel and clovers, golden willows and brocade palms rained over Devin.
