The first international cruise ship for 2009 lay aboard at Svishtov

The first international cruise ship for 2009 lay aboard at Terminal 1 of Svishtov port. 110 tourists from the Western Europe visited Svishtov as part of the program of “Primadona” ship. The ship came from Tulcha and went on to Belgrade, Budapest, Bratislava and Vienna.

70 international ships with the total number of 7520 passengers berthed abroad at Svishtov port in 2008. 84 ships with more than 9000 passengers are expected in 2009. The number increased because of the Svishtov port policy,...

The ski season in Bansko was closed

The ski season in Bansko was officially closed and the lift facilities stopped operating. There was a lot of snow this season and great number of tourist and skiers visited Bansko. The most important is that in 2009 the resort was established as a modern ski centre as it hosted the Ski World Cup Ladies in the end of February.

New 5-star hotel in Devin

Five star spa hotel Persenk was officially opened on the 17th of April in Devin. The complex tends to be the most luxuriant spa centre in Bulgaria. The hotel was blessed by the Metropolitan of Plovdiv, Nikolay. A fireworks show illuminated the sky above Persenk hotel and clovers, golden willows and brocade palms rained over Devin.

7 star complex for 550 million Euro to be developed near Balchik

7 star complex “Thracian Cliffs Golf and Marina and Spa Resort” to be developed between Balchik and Kavarna. The total value of the project exceeds 550 million Euro. The complex will be represented at V.I.P Property Exhibition, which will take place on the 25th and 26th of April in Hilton hotel in Sofia. The buildings in Thracian Cliffs will take only 13% of the total area of the complex.

53% of the Tourists Use Internet to Choose a Hotel and Holiday Destination

In December 2008, the hotels’ managers in Pamporovo Resort and the municipalities of Smolyan and Devin started a research of the opinion of the tourists about the hotels and holidays services in the region. It lasted 4 mounts but the number of the filled questionnaires was much smaller than it was expected. Sofia could be a host of the “New 7 wonders” awarding ceremony

Sofia could be a host of the “New 7 wonders” awarding ceremony in 2011. Bulgarian capital was nominated as a host of the spectacular ceremony in the official web site of the contest, www.new7wonders.com.

Meanwhile Belogradchik Rocks got second position in the competition for the new seven wonders, after the Devil’s town in Belgrade. The nominations are in the “Caves, rock formations and valleys” category.

Bulgaria changes image by developing golf & SPA tourism

Bulgaria to be a modern all-year tourist destination, plans the strategy for development of tourism till 2013.

In 5 years, the tourism revenues are expected to reach nearly 8 billion euro.

The aims, set in the strategy will be obtained through mending of the infrastructure and through preservation and improvement of the national tourism resources.

First "Royal yacht club" established in Bulgaria

Twice as many tourists in Belogradchik this season

Twice as many tourists will visit Belograchik this year compared to the previous one.

This was announced by the mayor of Belogradchik municipality, Emil Tsankov. About 200 000 tourist will visit Belogradchik rocks this year, which is twice as much compared to previous season.

Airshow at Plovdiv Airport

Plovdiv Airport Ltd., in association with “Mlad Orel” (Young Eagle) Club organizes aviation festival for the Day of Aviation and Cosmonautics – April, 12.
