Information Centre for Culture and Tourism in Sevlievo town in Bulgaria

A modern information culture – tourism centre opened doors on Friday in Sevlievo. It is situated in the walking zone of the central part of the town. It offers numerous information materials. “I hope that soon the centre will be transformed in a preferred site for tourists”, said the mayor of the town Mr Stoikov.

European Champoinship in Kickbox Varna 2008

Tomorrow 22 October 2009: The Palace of Culture and Sports in Varna will host the opening of the "European Champoinship in Kickbox Varna 2008".
The championship is for men and women and will be in 4 days - from 22 to 25 October.
The Bulgarian Kickbox and Muay Thie Federation organizes the event.

Sofia Airport Upgrades Category, Delayed and Canceled Flights to Diminish

Sofia airport has been granted a 3A category, meaning that airplanes could land with a visibility a slow as 200 meters.

The news was announced by Bulgaria's Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev Sunday. Mutafchiev participated in the presentation of the military "Albatross F2" plane in the village of Chernogorovo.The plane is a replica of the plane used by the Bulgarian Army during the Balkan War. The Religious Tourism has been discussed in Varna

Religious tourism was the accent of the Black Sea Tourism Forum in Varna. “Religious Tourism: Monasteries-the image of Bulgarian spirit” was the topic of the forum. The event took place from 16th till 18th of October.

State National Championships 2008

Pirin Golf Club hosted the 2008 State National Golf Championships, where the best of Bulgarian golfers competed for this prestigious title.
The 18 holes were played over the established Ian Woosnam 9 -hole design and the newer Pines course which threads its way in and out of the forest - two very different nine-hole layouts that tested the competitors’ skills.

Archaeologists Unearth Bulgarian Madonna

Archaeologists have discovered the Bulgarian copy of the Virgin Mary at the excavations of the unique necropolis discovered by the village of Nissovo near Rousse on the Danube. The expedition is led by the archaeologist Templar, Prof. Nikolay Ovcharov. The sensational finding is the medieval burial of a mother and a child. Unique Byzantine Mosaics Unearthed in Bulgaria's Kyustendil

A team of Bulgarian archaeologists discovered Wednesday unique mosaics from Byzantine times during excavation works in the town of Kyustendil.

The beautiful findings, which are drawn mainly with geometrical figures, once tiled the floors of official halls in a Byzantine private house, the experts reported.

The development of a project for local improvement of “Strandzha” gathered expert mission of foreign and Bulgarian representatives.

Unknown Monogram from XIV Century was Found at Trapezitsa Hill

The archeologist Mirko Robov found an unknown so far monogram during the exploration of the South fortified wall of the Trapezitsa hill.

The inscription is completely preserved. It is glazed and decorated. There is written a capital “T” and also “C”, “Y”, “Д”, “П” and “Н”. It partly looks like the monogram of St. Teodosii of Tarnovo, partiarh of Bulgaria during the Second Bulgarian Empire. He used such monograms to sign his works, explained Mirko Robov.
