Bicycle route to be opened along the Danube river

A bicycle route is to be built along the Bulgarian and Romanian banks of the Danube river until 2013, Building and Real Estates weekly reported. The project called Danube bicycle route is to be financed by the program for international cooperation between Bulgaria and Romania.

The aim of the bicycle route along the shores of Danube is to become a tourist attraction. This project is to be part of the route from Budapest to the Black Sea. There will be an informative internet site which to popularize this destination as a combination of sport and tourism.

Tourists passing by this route are to take part in the ethnic festival and other traditional events in the towns near Danube.
