61 Bulgarian municipalities to welcome tourists with reconstructed cultural, historical and natural attractions in 2013 summer

61 Bulgarian municipalities will have reconstructed and developed tourist attractions in 2013 when a 24-month projects worth some BGN 202 million will be accomplished under Regional Development OP, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Lilyana Pavlova said in an interview with FOCUS News Agency.

“What we consider important is to have tourist attractions that can draw as many tourists as possible and develop the attractions and their infrastructure. Each cultural, natural and historical attraction is very significant,” she said further.

She enumerated some of the sites that will be financed to become tourist attractions: ancient Thracian city of Perperikon, Madara Rider medieval rock relief, Shumen Fortress, Bulgaria’s old capital Veliki Preslav, island of Saint Anastasia close to seaside city of Burgas, the archeological and ethnographic complexes Etar and Bozhentsi, Belogradchik Fortress, Ledenika cave, museums in the coastal towns of Sozopol and Nesebar and in Sofia.
