Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia work over a top destination project for the Danube river region.
The ministers in charge of tourism of the Danube countries signed a memorandum to launch a joint project aimed at developing tourism in the Danube area.
The project launches the Roman Emperors' Road project, set to link the rich historic heritage of the area with contemporary opportunities for tourism.
"We have joined efforts to make the "Danube" a recognizable brand not only for mass tourism, but also for alternative venues such as cultural, historical, eco-, wine, gourmet, bike, and SPA tourism," said Bulgarian Minsiter of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov.
The Danube countries will apply for EU funding for the development of the project.
