Bulgaria's top ski centres are getting ready for Winter 2014

VisitBulgaria.net, September 30, 2013

After the successful summer season in the mountain, its high time to wipe away the dust from the ski and get ready for the winter fiesta in Bulgaria. The major ski centres in Bulgaria - Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo are preparing for the new season and will surprise guests with new attractions and improvements in the ski zones.

Pamporovo is constructing a brand new high speed quad. The investment is estimated to cost 3.5 million Euro. The lift will be about a kilometer long and should be completed by the beginning of the new ski season. It will start from the two bridges site and will connect Studenets and Malina ski centres. The resort also plans to invest another 1.2 million Euro for new artificial snow equipment, covering additional 6 km ski slopes.

Borovets on the other hand will host a round of the European alpine ski cup (men giant slalom and slalom) during the period February 15-16, 2014.

The big news from Bansko is that the Bulgarian government supports the construction of a second gondola lift in the resort. However the idea is now being discussed by experts and more details on the project are expected to be revealed shortly.
