Day 1

Sofia – Zemenski Monastery (11th c.) – Rila monastery – Stob's Pyramids - Panichishte resort

Rila Monastery is one of the symbols of Bulgaria, located in the Rila mountain (1147 m).
It was founded in the first half of the 10th c. In 1983 it was included in the List of World Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. The total area which it takes, together with the church, the residential, and the farming buildings, is 8800 sq. m.

Stob's Pyramids are rock formations with diverse shape, reaching height of 12 m.

Panichishte (80 km from Sofia) is a ski resort in winter and a starting point for hiking routes in summer.

Accommodation in a 3*** hotel in Panichiste.
Free time. Dinner in the hotel (optional). 1 overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2
Panichishte resort — 7 Rila lakes – Ovcharenski Waterfall

Breakfast in the hotel.

Chairlift from Panichishte to Rila Lakes mountain hut (about 20 min). Easy walking tour in the cirque (4 – 5 hours).

The Seven Rila Lakes are one of the most popular natural attractions on the Balkan Peninsula. They are group of glacial lakes situated 2100 - 2500 m above sea level, surrounded by peaks and valleys.

On the return way optional visiting of Ovcharenski waterfall situtead at 900 m above the sea level.
