А folklore festival, “Live heritage”, marked the Bulgarian independence day in Sofia

The folklore festival “Live Heritage” took place on 22 of September in South Park in Sofia. On this day in 1908 in the town of Veliko Tarnovo, Prince Ferdinand announced the independency of Bulgaria. After that Bulgaria turned from Principality into Bulgaria Kingdom.

The magical Rupite site

Rupite site is situated about 8 km northeast of Pertich at the foothills of Kozhuh Mountain. The height is part of the periphery of an extinct volcano and its centre is the fertile meadow named Rupite. That’s why there is something magnetic and unique in this site.

The Museum of “Natural Science” in Cherni Osam - The soul of Central Balkan Mountain

There is a small lovely village huddled among the green peaks of Central Balkan Mountain Range. It is named after Cherni Osam River, which runs through the settlement. The village is situated 185 km northeast of Sofia, 48 km south of the district town Lovech and 12 km southeast of the beautiful Balkan town Troyan.

In Melnik

The hot summer sun was shining. I was walking along the bed of the dry river and beautiful dazzling white houses took turns around me. “Kordopulova” house was rising in the end of the town. It is more than 250 years old and it has rich history, deep wine cellar and large butts full of mature wine. The ruins of Bolyarska house was standing near by. And all these wonderful human creations were situated in the middle of the unique sand and rock formations – known as Melnik pyramids. ...
