DAY 1

Arriving in Sofia. Car transfer from Sofia Airport to hotel in the city center. Accommodation for one overnight. If you arrive in Sofia at the morning you will visit Boyana Church. If you arrive in the late afternoon you'll see this sight in the next day morning. Boyana Church of St. Nicholas and St. Pantaleimon is situated at the foot of Vitosha Mountain, in Boyana Housing Estate in Sofia. It is one of the few medieval monuments of Christian art that have survived until the present day. Boyana Church owes its global fame mainly to the wall-paintings of 1259 which demonstrate the exceptional achievements of the Bulgarian medieval culture.

DAY 2

Depart to Kazanlak and the Kazanlak Tomb. An original Thracian tomb from 4th – 3rd century BC is situated in the Tyulbeto park. It is known as the Kazanlak Tomb. It is under a special storage regime. Its duplicate, constructed in scale 1:1, which presents the architecture, the archaeological materials and the wall-paintings of the Kazanlak Tomb, is situated next to it. This Tomb is one of the most significant monuments of the Thracian culture in the Bulgarian lands, included in the list of the global cultural inheritance of UNESCO in 1979. Overnight in Kazanlak.

DAY 3

Depart to Ivanovo Rock Churches located near the town of Ruse. The rock monastery “St. Archangel Michael” is situated 22 km from Ruse, in close proximity to the village of Ivanovo, within the borders of Natural Park “Rusenski Lom”. An asphalted road with designative board signs leads to the complex, and there is a parking lot at the foot of the rocks. A stair system in the rocks provides access for visitors to the various churches and chapels in the region. Overnight in Ruse.

DAY 4

Depart to Sveshtarska Tomb. The most significant find on the territory of the historical and archaeological reservation of Sboryanovo is the Sveshtarska Thracian Royal Tomb. It was found in 1982 during excavations at Mound No 7 of the East Mound Necropolis of Sboryanovo (Ginina Mogila). It was constructed in the first quarter of the 3rd century BC and represents a unique monument of the Thracian tomb architecture. It has significant size. Its length is 7.5 m, its width at the façade is 6.5 m, and the height of the tomb chamber (on the inside) is 4.45 m. The tomb was constructed by large limestone blocks. It consists of a dromos (corridor) and three premises-chambers, as each chamber is covered by an individual arch. Depart to Silistra. Overnight in the town of Silistra.

DAY 5

This morning you'll observe the Biosphere Reservation of Srebarna in the village of Srebarna. The biosphere reservation by the village of Srebarna is situated at a distance of 2 km south from the river Danube and 16 km west from Silistra, on an area of 600 ha. It covers the lake Srebarna and the territories near it. Its fame is related on one hand to the fact that it is situated exactly on the way of the migratory birds from Europe to Africa - Via Pontica, and on the other hand to the unique and diverse species of water birds in it. Depart to Shumen and observe of Madara Archelogical Reserve. Towering cliffs, beautiful natural surroundings, and plentiful water drew people here from the dawn of history. The most notable monument at the Madara reserve is the unique stone relief known as the Madara Horseman. Carved on a massive cliff some 23 meters high, it is representative of early Medieval Bulgarian artistry. Overnight in Shumen.

DAY 6

Depart to the Nesebar Architectural-Historical Reserve which is located in the Old Town and takes the form of an 850 m long and 350 m wide peninsula. The Old Town was declared an architectural-historical reserve of national importance by virtue of Ordinance No 243 of the Council of Ministers of 18 July 1956. In 1983 Old Nesebar was included in the List of World Cultural Heritage Sites of UNESCO. Overnight in Bourgas.

DAY 7

Today we'll travel to Plovdiv. Ancient Plovdiv Architectural Reserve is a well-preserved complex where on a relatively small area visitors can take walks through different historical ages, see ancient buildings adapted to the modern way of life and feel the spirit of the town from the Bulgarian Revival Period. Overnight in Plovdiv.

DAY 8

Today we will have a trip to Bansko and one beautiful part of National Park Pirin called Bezbog. Pirin National Park is located in the Pirin Mountains, in southwest Bulgaria. The park includes seven municipalities in the district of Blagoevgrad: Bansko, Gotse Delchev, Razlog, Sandanski, Strumyani, Kresna, and Simitli. Overnight in Bansko.
