Sandanski Municipality and the Association of Hotel and Restaurant Keepers and Tour Operators develop tourist information map of the Bulgarian town of Sandanski, reported Viara daily.

The map will include information about hotels, business contacts and other useful information. The municipality and the association aim to facilitate tourists during their visits in Sandanski.

The official opening of the complex “Episkopska Bazilika” (Bishop’s Basilica) and archaeology exhibition will take place today in Sandanski. The complex with the remains of the early Christianity Basilica is situated right behind the building of the Archaeology Museum in Sandanski. The Bulgarian Balneology and Spa Alliance held the first international seminar “Certification of Balneology Hotels in Europe”, together with the European Spa organization.

The Bulgarian and the foreign tourists' interest towards local SPA and wellness tourism has increased.
This was reported in the latest research of the local State Agency of Tourism (SAT).
According to the research 18% of the Bulgarians and 34% of the foreign tourists spend time for SPA tourism during their winter vacations.
