Europe's Best Sommelier '2008 - Finals

The final round of “Europe's Best Sommelier '2008” competition took place in the National Theatre “Ivan Vazov” at 14 o’clock on the 19th of May. The winner was announced at the official ceremony. Europe's Best Sommelier '2008

The capital of Bulgaria, Sofia, hosted the 39th regular general assembly of Association de la Sommellerie Internationale and the 11th issue of the “Europe's Best Sommelier '2008” competition. The event went on under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Georgi Parvanov.

Greek Flocafe Open Doors in Bulgaria

Flocafe - a cafe chain part of Greek food group Vivartia, opened on Tuesday, May 13 its first outlet on Bulgarian territory, The Dnevnik a.m. revealed.
The Flocafe is located in Sofia, on the St. Nedelya square on the same place where the Goody's eatery was, another chain part of the Vivartia group.

The managers intend to open at least one more outlet in another city in Bulgaria by the end of the year.

The Flocafe chain operates about 80 outlets in Greece and Cyprus.

42 Days 'Salon Des Arts' Culture Festival in Sofia

The thirteenth edition of ‘Salon Des Arts' culture festival starts in Bulgaria's capital and will last for 42 days.
The official opening of the event will be on May 12 in hall 1 of National Palace of Culture (NDK) with huge folklore concert.

In the festival's program are included concerts, dance shows, expositions, cinema shows, literature readings and many others.

The Union of the tourism investors will represent Bulgaria in Madrid during the celebrations of the Day of Europe. All capitals from the European Union nations will represent themselves as tourist destinations.

Bulgaria Celebrates St. George's Day

An army parade on Sofia's Tsar Osvoboditel boulevard and Battenberg square marked the day of Bulgarian army on St. George's day, May 6.

Representatives of all military schools and types of military forces marched in front of hundreds of Sofia residents in an event that has become a tradition since 1993. The electronic dance song, which was surprisingly picked to represent Bulgaria at the Eurovision 2008, has recently appeared to be among the favourites in the music contest, critics claim.

DJ Take me away of Deep zone project and Balthazar ranks eight among the song with greatest chance to win this year's competition.

The Attraction Bus “City Sightseeing” is already in Sofia.
Nessebar, Bourgas and Varna are the next towns to offer sightseeing tours. From 13th of April all tourists, visiting the capital of Bulgaria have the chance to see from the bus the main attraction spots of the city. 'Unshown Treasures' Revealed for Audience in National Museum of History

Unique exposition will be opened today in the National Museum of History (NMH).
The expo is called ‘Unshown Treasures' and includes exactly that - valuables, never seen by the Bulgarian audience are arranged in the museum's halls.

More that 2000 exponents are included in the exposition. Some of them have appeared in the museum thanks to Police cooperation.
