Increased Interest towards Spa Tourism in Bulgaria

aVitalis Magazine, 10 Oct. 2007

Small towns and villages in Bulgaria in which mineral springs are to be found, are already catching the eye of the investors.
Unknown until very recently names on the geographic map of Bulgaria are making the front pages of the national daily newspapers as objects of concentration of business interests.

This tendency is new, but will gain strength as it offers an alternative after the "concreting Bulgarian Black Sea coast took place, real estate brokers say.
The development of the SPA industry is expected to increase Bulgaria's ranking as a tourist destination, although the country's mineral water springs are not exploited to their full capacity yet.

Bulgaria is rich in mineral waters. More than 600 natural springs and 400 mineral water drill sites are known. The development prospects of the real estate market in the regions offering SPA and balneology services are quite realistic. The projects are focused on transforming the mineral baths and recreation buildings into modern luxury SPA facilities and villa settlements.

English, Russian, Irish and Bulgarian investors are examining locations in and around Dobrinishte, Shipkovo, Chiflik, Voneshta Voda, Razlog and other places, where healing mineral waters come out.
