International cycling championship for youths will take place from 1 – 3 June in Vidin. The cycling round is organized with the kind cooperation of the regional governor eng. Krastio Spasov and the mayors of Bregovo, Dimovo and Kula. Majour initiator and organizer of the sport event is the local cycling club “Romulus investment”.
Participants from Serbia, Macedonia and Bulgaria will compete in the championship with a praise fund of 1500 BGN. Bulgaria will be represented by the cycling clubs...

The regional governor of Vidin eng. Eight bidders submitted offers to build the road and railway infrastructure on the Bulgarian side of the second bridge over Danube linking the EU's two newest member states.
Four companies made individual bids - Czech OHL ZS, Greek Terna, Spain's FCC Constuccion and Constructora Hispanica.
The other four bidders are consortia led by Turkey's Dogus, Spainish Copasa, Czech Subtera and Germany's Dywidag, respectively.

Bulgaria and Romania agreed that they need a second bridge across the Danube, signed a contract to construct it seven years ago, but actually started building it only this week.
"We have been waiting for this bridge for years," Bulgarian truck driver Nikolay Haylesov says angrily. His comment reflects the view of thousands of his colleagues from across Europe.

Danube Bridge 2 is part of the important transport corridor #4, which connects the port of Thessalonike with Sofia, Vidin, Romania, EU’s central and northern parts, Bulgarian PM Sergey Stanishev said in the town of Vidin, cited by a reporter of Radio Focus-Vidin.
The delegation was officially welcomed outside the building of the district administration. Now it is heading to the construction site of the bridge.
